Fudge Brownie

Sweets are my weakness!  No doubt about it!  Chips and salty snacks –  you can have them but hot fudge brownies are my Achilles heel! THAT is what I miss in my healthy lifestyle.  And yes I know I can eat whatever I want as long as I count the points but what if you want to eat the whole pan?!  Keep reading!

So here’s the problem.  It seems that many of the WW Friendly brownie recipes contain bananas.  I like bananas and I eat bananas BUT when I want a dark, delicious chocolate brownie I really don’t want to taste ANY banana at all! The second problem is my stomach and how it does not get along with Maltitol, a sweetener commonly used in sugar free cake and brownie mix.  So I have been on the continued hunt for a brownie mix that is low in points and tastes like a brownie!  A real brownie.  Not a banana brownie!

I am excited to report I have found it!  I am linking the brownie mix up top in my storefront and also down below.  It is sweetened with Erythritol, a sweetener that is tolerated by most digestive tracts and have almost no blood sugar impact in most people.  It’s my favorite sugar free sweetener by far! So here’s how I made the fudge brownies!

  1. How is this brownie mix different from Pillsbury!

    • The BIG difference is that it doesnt use Maltitol as the sweetener. As mentioned in the blog post, MANY people cant digest Maltitol and that is widely used in the Pillsbury Sugar Free cake and brownie mixes. This one is sweetened with with Erythritol which is much more stomach friendly!

      • Making these tonight

  2. Hi Barrett-
These are fabulous!! I made the cake like variety and used parchment paper in my 8×8 pan. They came out fine. I wasn’t sure if the Swerve confectioners was supposed to go in the mix or sprinkled on top. I put it in, about 1.5 tablespoons. Anyway, delish! Can’t believe it is only 1 point per serving. Love the website and facebook page!

  3. Thanks for the recipe! Can I substitute a different brownie mix in the recipe?
We don’t have that brand around us

    • I put on link for that mix on my website in my store front. I use that 1 because of the reasons mentioned in the blog post. I’m sure you could try something different but I’m not sure how it would turn out.
