Cheeseburger Bowl

This recipe solves the problem of both reducing down the carbs in a meal but also keeping the points at a WW friendly number. I enjoy this recipe far more than anything you can grab in a drive thru line!

You can do this meat mixture in a large batch and even freeze for up to 6 months!  all you will do is thaw it out and you have a perfectly seasoned burger you can put together in no time! When I make this, I do at least 2 lbs so I can make sliders on my indoor grill, big half pounders for anyone in the mood for that sort of thing — it even works great with a little macaroni noodles to make a sort of cheesy mac!  Whatever I dont cook, I freeze! I find they are best on my little indoor grill,  but you could also do them on an outdoor BBQ grill or in a pan on your cooktop.

I find that once you have a solid recipe down, you can do so much to make it full of flavor and choices on your WW weight loss journey!

On this particular day I had family coming over so I did a bunch of these burgers slider style and the non dieters in the group had them on a potato bun served with all of their favorite toppings. You could of course have them on a bun as well, even if you are on WW but since I am reducing the carbs this week as well, I opted for no bun on mine and I didn’t miss those carbs one bit!     I took 2 sliders, weighed them for points, and then broke them up in to my bowl.  The end result was a savory and charbroiled flavor in my cheeseburger bowl!

I love to add to my cheeseburger bowl things like chopped red onions, diced dill pickles, sugar free ketchup, mustard — but the 2 things I must have in this cheeseburger bowl is laughing Cow light cheese and Thousand Island lite dressing!  I like the mozzarella in my bowl and I usually do 2 wedges.  My favorite dressing is Kens and I actually prefer the Thousand Island lite to the full fat version.

Get creative with your bowls and add anything your heart desires!

Here is the link to my favorite indoor grill!  Its inexpensive as grills come and the clean up is so easy since its dishwasher safe and very lightweight!

Equipment

  • Indoor Grill --- linked in the post.

Ingredients

  • 1 lbs Lean ground beef
  • 3 tbsp Gourmet Burger Seasoning I used Weber Grill Seasonings
  • 3 tbsp Sugar Free BBQ sauce or ketchup I used D Hughes
  • 2 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp onion powder

Instructions

  • Combine ingredients together in a bowl. Do not over mix or you will have tough burgers. I like to weight them out before cooking if possible so you know how many point s to count in your bowl. 2 slider (or 4 oz) is one serving.
Grill your burgers until cooked how you like them. I go with a medium where there is a tiny bit of pink. It takes about 20-25 minutes on the indoor grill set on 400. You can cook your burgers however you like.
WW Smartpoints are 5 points on all plans for a serving as noted above.

  1. This recipe is a keeper, Barrett. I will use it a lot. We go to a drive-in that has great bunless burgers, but it’s over 200 mi away. Thanks for all you do for us.
